John J. Tassoni, Jr. is a well-rounded individual with the experience organizations need to excel. He is a former member of the Rhode Island Senate serving from 2001-2012. Additionally, John is a community activist, a businessman and former union executive. He has over 30 years of experience in the private sector and labor community.
During his career, John has received a number of awards for his philanthropic and civic work, from such organizations as the Mental Health Association of Rhode Island, Rhode Island Housing, and the Rhode Island National Guard. He was awarded the National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty, Bruce F. Vento Award, and received the Senator Jack Reed Advocacy Award for his national leadership on affordable housing and homelessness. He was also honored by the Rhode Island Labor Professionals with their Achievement Award for his dedication to the field of assistance to union members. He was also a recipient of the Transportation Safety Award from the RI DOT, and was named a Traffic Safety Hero by AAA Southern New England.
